This DVD features various bus events and running days that took place in the spring and early summer of 2024. These events are very important, providing opportunities for enthusiasts and the general public to see and ride on some of the many preserved buses in the UK. Many different buses, both old and new can be seen at these events.
Historic Commercial Vehicle Society: London to Brighton Run - 12th May 2024
The 2024 event started from Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey. Vehicles taking part were predominantly vans, lorries, fire engines, recovery vehicles and taxis, a number of buses & coaches of varying ages also participated in the run. This chapter features the vehicles in and around the museum as they were leaving for Brighton.
East Grinstead Classic Bus Running Day - 21st April 2024
This event was organised by Country Bus Rallies and mainly featured buses from London and the former Maidstone and District fleet. Buses were in service on eleven routes from East Grinstead.
High Wycombe Classic Bus Running Day - 2nd June 2024
This event was organised by the Amersham & District Motorbus Society. Buses were in service on routes radiating from High Wycombe bus station, former London Transport country area, London Country and a selection of ex-Arriva vehicles took part.
London Bus Route 406, Kingston - Redhill, Running Day - 9th June 2024
This running day was organised by the London Bus Museum at Brooklands, Surrey. Buses were running from Kingston to Redhill via Epsom and Reigate. A wide variety of vehicles took part including prototype Routemaster RM2, plus RT's and various single deckers. Friends of King Alfred Buses sent their Leyland PD2 POU494. This bus is a lowbridge double decker, a type not seen very often in the London area.
London Bus Museum Summer Festival - 23 June 2024
The London Bus Museum at Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey, held it's Summer Festival on 23rd June. A large number of buses took part, both from London, including the museums own collection, and from outside London. Various tours took place during the day, plus route 462 which ran from the museum to Weybridge station. This chapter shows buses in action, arriving and departing the museum, inside the museum and at Weybridge station.
Subtitles, no commentary, enjoy the sights & sounds of buses of yesterday and today.
