This DVD starts at Jenbach with Class 1110 and 1670 electrics in green livery before taking a trip on the Achenseebahn. Filmed professionally during the late 1950s or earl 60s, the narration is in German with a short introduction to the building of the line. A lengthy journey to Klagenfurt in Carinthia sees two 52s before a visit to Ljubljana for views of JZ steam representing Austrian kkSt.Bahn Class 270 2-8-0s, JZ 03 4-6-0 originating from the Austrian Sudbahn and Class 29 2-10-0s (BBO Class 81).

Moving back to Austria and Salzburg in 1988, 52 1198 works a special to Kolbnitz. 1189.05 takes over from Bischofshoven from where we see it departing. Bahnbetriebswerke Attnang Pucheim on 25th May 1970 sees 77 72 and 77 30 both withdrawn along with 52 7031. Wels in 1979 and 93 1455 prepares to work a special to Grünau Im Amtal. Approaching Linz, 52 6807 performs shunting duties along with scenes of various classes on shed. Several workings with 93 1313 are filmed on the Aigen Schlagl branch.

Summerau sees a freight crossing the border from Horní Dvořiště with 50 685. The next section takes a journey on the Garsten - Klaus narrow gauge line with scenes at Sarning and Garsten, then country views with steam hauled locals before the days of diesel units. The triangle at Hieflau was ideal for filming movements in all directions with two 86 Class station pilots along with various other tank locos and 2-10-0s. The Eisenerz - Vordenburg line sees an ore train and lenghthy views of passenger workings with Class 97s.

Gmund is host to the 556 Class crossing from Czechoslovakia and the 760mm gauge Engerth locos of Class 399 along with 298. A cab ride is taken aboard a freight from Weitra. The final section is on board a Zillertal train to Mayrhofen hauled by number 5. Gerlos, a chunky 0-6-2T.

The narration is constructed to interfere as little as possible with locomotive sound tracks. Original sound tracks used where available, other dubbed in as accurately as possible. All scenes digitally enhanced to improve picture quality.
