Description

This DVD features lines which were independent of London Transport or have been taken over by them, using archive cine film supplemented by new footage.

The Post Office's little tube trains hurtled through the city streets efficiently. Archive film and a later report by Fred Ivey here.

Heathrow Airport - to get there involved Piccadilly line to Hounslow West then a red double deck bus. Now there are several underground lines for the jetlagged passenger.

The Docklands Light Railway marches ahead with its many extensions. We look at its tunnel sections.

The Great Northern & City line ran only a little route. We study the LT tube stock over the years and the changeover to the main line services with the class 313s.

The Waterloo & City railway was owned by the LSWR then SR, then became a BR line until London Underground took it over in 1994. We have a look at all the trains which have been seen including amateur film of the Armstrong lift in action.
