Description

This two disc set was filmed on location in Portugal 1988 & 1989

Lisbon Trams & Buses (81 minutes)

Section 1: At Praça do Comércio we see tram routes 16, 17, 18, 25 and 26 stop on their journey through this busy location. Routes 15 and 18 actually terminate here. Daimler Fleetline double and AEC single deckers can also be seen on service.

Section 2: Cais do Sodré is the terminus for tram routes 20, 29 & 30 while 15 passes.

Section 3: Largo do Chiado sees route 28 negotiate the interlaced track on Rua Vitor Cordon. Then at Praça de Luis de Camoes we see 20, 29 & 30 up from Cais do Sodré.

Section 4:
  Santos sees tram routes 15, 16, 17, 18, 29 & 30 outside the railway station. Moving on to Belém Monastery, routes 15 & 16 are seen while 17 terminates.

Section 5:
  Central Lisbon sees tram routes 25 & 26 terminate and buses in Rossio Square. A visit is made to Campolide Serafina aqueduct to see Daimler single deckers.

Section 6:
  Rua Alexandre Herculano/Avenida da Liberdade  junction sees tram routes 20, 25 & 26 and buses in  the morning peak then the same location by night.

Northern Portugal Trams, Buses & Trolleybuses (46 minutes)

Section 1: Coimbra buses and trolleybuses are in the city centre then a visit to the SMTUC Guarda Inglesa depot sees preserved tram 15 outside.

Section 2:
Local bus activity is seen at the following northern town locations: Viseu bus station and centre; Guarda streets; Lemago streets and Vila Real centre.

Section 3:
Oporto River Douro Bridge of Luis sees buses and trolleybuses on the top deck. A trip is made over the lower deck by coach. São Bento is the next location.

Section 4:
Bolhão market (weekday) sees Lancia double deck trolleybus activity.

Section 5:
Bolhão market (Sunday) sees bus and only single deck trolleybus activity.

Section 6:
Boavista tram depot is seen, while on the roundabout outside tram routes 18 & 19 terminate and negotiate the busy traffic. We finish at Castelo do Queijo.
