Autumn 2005:
We begin on Sunday 2nd October 2005, the last day of the summer service. With a special timetable in operation, extra trams and unusual combinations were put into service before the winter-long closure of the railway.

In addition to the usual motor + trailer combinations, car 21 works with enclosed trailer 56 and then it's the main event.... car 32 with trailer 57 and mail van 4 - working a return journey to Ramsey. There are various run-pasts of this odd combination and then the run-round move at Ramsey. Arriving back in Douglas, 32+57+4 return to the shed but it's not over, as cars 19 and 22 simultaneously depart from each end at 18.50. Both cars are filmed in the dark at Laxey before 22 arrives back in Douglas, it's lights out and the 2005 season is over.

Winter 2006:
Footage from January 2006 with the Summerland complex partly demolished and various trackwork in progress. Car 7 is stabled at Dhoon, an 0-6-0 diesel shunter is seen hauling trailer 45 at Ballabeg and 19 is outbased at Ramsey on p/w duties. This section includes a visit to the Car Sheds at Douglas with 5, 6, 16 and 58 under works attention.

Spring 2006:
Full coverage of the first week of MER operations from May. See the first tram on the first day and you won't believe your eyes - Summerland has gone - and the whole area around Derby Castle has changed!
