Description

The five mile branch line between Keighley and the Pennine town of Oxenhope was opened to traffic in 1867.

Built to serve the local communities and mills along its route, theline features steep gradients, including the notorious 1 in 58 climb, which is also on reverse curves, out of Keighley station.

This DVD examines the history of the branch through to thepresent day, now operated in its entirety by the Keighley & WorthValley Railway Preservation Society.

Trains can be seen working at many locations along the line andthe charming former Midland Railway stations are looked at closely.

Some of the railway's resident fleet of locomotives are seen inaction, including ex-LMS Jubilee Bahamas, along with views of ex-LNERA4 Pacific Sir Nigel Gresley and ex-BR 7MT Pacific Britannia, which aretwo of the many regular main line visitors to the Haworth depot.
