Description
21st Century Bulleid is the story of the Southern Pacifics in the first decade of the new millennium - an operating period perhaps not given much thought in 1941. Incredibly, eighteen of the surviving 31 locomotives have worked in private hands since British Railways discarded them in the mid-60s. . . and 16 of those have emitted steam in anger since the first day of 2000! To prove this statistic, you will see ALL of them in action in the course of the programme . . . and the other two for the sake of completeness.
There's also a survey of the non-runners - the National Collection locos and those awaiting or undergoing restoration in 2011 - a section called Imposters (including a red Taw Valley), a trip behind 35005, and a final section of Doubles, with a very strange working on the Swanage Railway.
